I get asked this question quite a bit: "How do you come up with your stories?"
I find the inspiration for my stories in different ways, when I'm listening to music, when I'm working out, or taking a walk around my neighborhood. I also find inspiration when I'm traveling or right before I'm falling asleep (you should see the notes section in my phone) but the number one place where I find inspiration is in the still, quite time of the early mornings. I'm a bonafide, morning person. I know, I know, some of you may find that annoying, but I love the early mornings before anyone else is up in my house. I call it "my time" and I am unapologetically selfish about it (just ask my husband).
This is the time where I mediate and journal, and a lot of my stories come to life. My mind is constantly racing with different scenes and scenarios, so I love to get quiet and take out my pen and journal and write all the different ideas I have for my stories. My character names tend to pop into my head at different times. Sometimes it's when I'm walking and listening to music, or I could be having a conversation with someone who says something, and voila a character pops into my mind.
So inspiration for me, comes in may different ways. I tend to find it everywhere and remain open to receiving it.
